Beta · terms & privacy · draft
The beta, in plain terms.
These apply to every MPT beta build you receive through a personal link from beta@mptplayer.com. Ticking the box on the request form means you have read them.
- 01 · What you get
- A personal, non-transferable licence to install and run the MPT beta build you were sent, on machines you control, to evaluate it and tell us what you find. Beta builds carry a version, may stop working after a date, and may be replaced at any time.
- 02 · Confidential
- The build, your download link and anything in it that is not on this website are confidential. Do not pass the build or the link on — if a colleague should test it, ask and we will send them their own. Please ask before publishing screenshots, recordings or performance figures from the beta.
- 03 · Do not
- Redistribute, sell, rent or host the build; reverse-engineer, decompile or modify it; or work around any check it contains. Third-party components inside it keep their own licences (see Third-party notices).
- 04 · Beta quality
- It is a beta. It can crash, misread a file or draw the wrong colour. It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and it is not a substitute for your delivery checks. To the extent the law allows, liability for any loss arising from the beta is excluded.
- 05 · Feedback
- Bugs, ideas and test files you send may be used to improve MPT, with no obligation on either side and no fee. Your footage stays yours; send only what you are allowed to share.
- 06 · Your data
- The request form stores your name, email address, studio or role, the builds you asked for, your notes, a pseudonymised network address, and the time of each request and download. That is used only to run the beta — to review requests, send links and reach you about builds you hold. It is kept until the beta programme ends or you ask for it to be deleted, whichever is first. Processors: Vercel (hosting and database, Neon), Resend (email delivery) and Cloudflare (file storage). Nothing is shared with anyone else. To see or delete what we hold, write to beta@mptplayer.com.
- 07 · Ending
- Either side can end this at any time. When it ends, or when the released product replaces the beta, delete the build. The released product will come with its own licence, which replaces these terms.
